The Hutong School organizes internships in combination with Chinese classes for students, graduates and young professionals who want to gain working and living experience in China. We will organize an internship at a local or international company in Beijing, provide accommodation and teach you Chinese.

Our services include:
- Internship placement
- Accommodation in single rooms in modern apartments in central Beijing.
- 2 hours of Chinese classes per day
- Airport pick-up.
- Assistance with the visa application and the registration in Beijing.
- Regular panels with Beijing's business elite, diplomats and journalists, who want to share their experience in China.

For our client we are currently looking for an intern for the following position:

Software Developer

Location: Beijing

Starting date: flexible

Duration: 6 months to permanent

Allowance: depending on qualifications

Internship description:
Design and develop excellent software using open-source technologies and
agile development practices.

Requirements:
• CREATIVE AND ANALYTICAL - You must be a great problem solver, with the
ability to dive deeply into complex problems and emerge with clear and
pragmatic solutions.
• ABILITY TO CREATE EXCELLENT CODE - You must write correct, clean and
efficient code that you are proud of. You must be able to learn any programming
language. We assume that you can use at least one of Java, C, C++, C#, Python,
Perl or PHP.
• PASSION - You must have passion for what you do. Involvement in Open Source
projects or a portfolio of your hobby projects is a big plus.
• ABILITY TO LEARN IN ENGLISH - You must have good enough English
reading/writing to study new technologies in English quickly, and preferably a
good base for improving your spoken English if necessary.
• UNDERSTANDING OF WEB TECHNOLOGIES - We assume that you know
HTML and that you can quickly master all the rest. Understanding of network
protocols such as HTTP, FTP, TCP/IP and DNS as well as core web technologies
such as CSS, Javascript, DHTML, AJAX and others would be a strong advantage.
• PRIOR KNOWLEDGE of Python, Linux, Scrum, eXtreme Programming is a big
plus.
